Citizenship Classes

April 22, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Hi Felicia,
Congratulations on the new role at the CDC! Project Citizenship runs a free N-400 application clinic for Legal Permanent Residents seeking to become U.S. citizens. The application is complicated and is a major barrier for many on their path to citizenship. What’s great about working with Project Citizenship on the clinic is that they bring in DOJ trained representatives and attorneys to complete the applications (and fee waivers). They also mail the application and provide case management to applicants throughout the process. In fact, they bring in everything needed to run a successful clinic. Last year’s event at Espacio was their first in Salem and they loved Espacio and the connection to NSCAP, the NSCDC and the community. We did about 15 applications at the Saturday clinic in April and I think the word is out that it will happen again this year. For more about Project Citizenship:
I’ve also attached the flyer from last year.

In terms of dates–are there days of the week when there are no ESL classes in the space? We could look at the week of April 22. I think a 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. time slot would make sense. Or we could do something later in the afternoon 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. maybe.
